Shadows in the Grass

Colony Specialist

We are stunned that the "Colony Leader" perk level sold out already! Even more so, that people have been contacting us asking if they can still have a small role in the film anyways, even though it is sold out.

That perk was so limited because we don't want to be in the business of cramming in on-screen roles at the cost of storytelling; these roles are there to serve the film. Also, as producers we only want to offer perks that we can commit to fulfilling. Keeping that in mind, we took a close look at the current edit of the film and decided that we definitely want a larger "colony".

So, by popular demand (literally), we are introducing a "Colony Specialist" perk level. It is effectively the same as the "Colony Leader", except there are a few more that we are willing to release.

If last week was any indication, these will not last long; be sure to let your friends know they can be in the film before it is too late!

One Week In

The first week of our campaign is wrapping up, and it has been a big one! We are currently a few dollars away from 40% of our primary goal, thanks to the amazing support of nearly 200 people!

The positive reception the project has received really means a lot to us. Our IndieGoGo pitch video has been played more than 25,000 times, and we've gotten a lot of great feedback on Reddit (on the front of r/videos right now), Facebook, and Twitter.

Because of that feedback, over the last few days we have pulled together a gallery of concept art of the ISSC Hypatia and Conrad, storyboards and sketches, and previsualized frames. There is a bunch of new content no-one has seen before!

Check out the gallery!

Two Days In

Hey gang!

It has been an incredible first 2 days!

Since launching the campaign, we've hit 20% of our goal, and it is your generosity and tenacity that got us here. Thank you all so very much! We are absolutely blown away by how most people seem to like this project, and couldn't be happier.

There have been quite a few people talking about this project. A favourite from yesterday popsci.com with "This indie sci-fi movie has a better space station than many blockbusters". If you like this article, please share it on Facebook, RT on Twitter, or upvote on Reddit.

This initial momentum is super important to us. 90% of campaigns which raise 30% of their goal in the first week become fully funded, while only 10-15% of the rest manage it. This is why every donation is huge at this stage; even $5 now makes a big difference down the line.

We'd like to make an extra shout out to those who have been campaigning strongly on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, other social medias, and directly to friends and family. If you really want to see this film get made, we need to share this campaign with a lot of people.

Until next time!

~ Mike and Matt
